It doesn't get better than this! A perfect home in a picture postcard location. The entrance expands into an open plan dining/living/kitchen area containing a cozy log fireplace with a spacious balcony overlooking the views of pristine, magnificent Lake Wanaka.

There are two additional living areas with comfortable large seating, a large flat screen TV, a games area and additional fireplace allowing for serious unwinding and relaxation. These areas share the front view as well as looking out onto a beautifully manicured garden with a large lawn, cubby house and additional outdoor dining area.

Moving to the top floor, you'll find four large bedrooms. The master bedroom with open plan ensuite enjoys spectacular 100 degree views from the town, across the lake to the awe- inspiring jagged peaks of Mount Aspiring National Park. The additional three bedrooms sleep six more people comfortably with a large bathroom, guest bathroom and state-of-the-art laundry. Fresh linen and towels and bathrobes are all part of the creature comforts of this magnificent home. A self contained apartment is attached to the ground floor sleeping two more people with internal bathroom, kitchenette and dining.

At the end of a busy day hiking or skiing steam away in the sauna or simply relax overlooking the spectacular views as the sun sets. High speed broadband and cable TV is also available. A personal concierge service is available when needed. Services include providing transfers to and from the airport, stocking the fridge with basic food and wine and lighting the fire ready for your arrival. If required, your on-call personal concierge can also organise bookings for activities, dining and anything you need to make your stay luxurious and enjoyable.

Things to do and see in Wanaka

Wanaka is located on the Southern Shores of Lake Wanaka. It is Otago's second resort town after Queenstown. Whether you visit Wanaka in Spring, Summer, Autunmn or Winter, there are hundreds of adventures awaiting you, not to mention the colourful changes of every season.

The ski season begins towards the end of June and finishes early October. Wanaka is located just 45 minutes from all the major ski fields. The major ski fields include Cardrona Alpine Resort, suitable for the beginner or intermediate skier. For the more experienced or cross country skier, Treble Cove is the South Islands largest premier ski area with wide slopes and an ungroomed field, a free riders paradise. Snow Farm and Snow Park is perfect for freestyle skiers and snowboarders alike. Here you'll find 50km of groomed trails and freestyle terrain park.

Wanaka has some of the most beautiful walks in the world. Greenstone and Routeburn are among some of the favourites as well as Diamond Lake, and Mount Aspiring National Park. Whether you enjoy walking, trekking, rock climbing or abseiling, you'll be amazed by the breathtaking scenery. There are walks available for all levels-beginner to advanced, half day or even 2-8 day guided tours. Scenic day flights and jetboating are often coupled with many guided ascents of the classic New Zealand peaks, taking you to remote forest locations.

Water activities are very popular in the Wanaka region and include fresh water fishing, jetboating, white water rafting, canyoning, water skiing, kayaking and river cruises. Fish in the Southern Lakes, trout fish in the Upper Clutha River or try drift fishing down the rivers of Lake Wanaka. Try canyoning and descend the wonderous canyons of the Matukituki valley and explore your way through the crystals pools and native forest. Plunge down water chutes and abseil down waterfalls. White water raft across the Upper Clutha river and sweeping rapids from September to April or take a Lake Wanaka Island Cruise. Jetboating takes you to Matukituki Valley through the lord of the rings locations with views of Avalanche glacier and Mt Aspiring. Optional helicopter rides will take you around the glaciers.

What a better way to see the unspoilt nature than from above. Scenic flights take you to Mt Cook, Mt Aspiring and Milford Sound with vintage tiger moth flights over Lake Wanaka. If you're more of a thrill seeker, try heliskiing/heliboarding to discover the stunning mountain scenery by air then snowboard or ski down the slopes. Paraglide/Hanglide over Treble Cove with a scenic flight or try skidiving above the spectacular scenery, freefalling at 200km/hr which is not for the faint-hearted.

Land activities in the area are endless. Visit the historic gold mining town of Arrowtown on the banks of Arrow River, with many lovely walks. Go shopping, have a bite to eat in the cafes or visit some of the local wineries. Central Otago has a number of wineries including Rippon, Amisfield, Carrick and Mt Difficulty. Visit the wineries for lunch and wine tastings or sample some of the local fruit produce. Play an 18 hole round of golf at Wanaka Golf Glub, go for a mountain bike ride or try target shooting. Horseback treks are ideal through country South New Zealand and the Cardrona Valley. Meander around the lake. The Clutha outlet track is a must either by foot or by mountain bike. The town of Lake Wanaka offers a variety of lovely cafes and dining choices and the cinema paradiso experience is unforgettable.
