Wanaka on the South Island is a popular destination for skiers, and is also a great holiday destination outside of winter also, with Lake Wanaka a perfect spot to stop for a short while. Over the scenic Crown Range Road, the adventure resort of Queenstown is just 50 minutes drive away.
