Explore Thermal Volcanic Zones
The Lake Taupo region is part of the Taupo Volcanic Zone. A volcanic wonderland
stretching from White Island to the Tongariro National Park. Within this area
you’ll see spectacular steaming cliffs, geysers, boiling lakes, bubbling
mud pools and floating rocks called pumice. Visit Orakei Korako, one of the
best thermal areas left in the world or the Wairakei Terraces, a re-creation
of the famous silica terraces, destroyed in a volcanic eruption.

guides available in the area and you can also charter one of the fishing launches

offer both Rainbow and Brown trout fishing.
