TSS EARNSLAW VINTAGE STEAMSHIP
Relive the elegance of bygone days with a cruise aboard the vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw, one of the last remaining coal fired passenger carrying vessels operating in the southern hemisphere. Affectionately known as the “Lady of the Lake”, the TSS Earnslaw has a special place in the hearts of Queenstown people. She has been transporting goods to remote settlements and conveying passengers on beautiful Lake Wakatipu since 1912. What better way to view the magnificent scenery than by taking a cruise a board the TSS Earnslaw.
Step aboard – watch the stokers fuelling the fireboxes and hear the sound of the steam engines working as the TSS Earnslaw takes you on a nostalgic cruise of beautiful Lake Wakatipu.
Be transported in style on one of our regular departures to Walter Peak High Country Farm. As you relax on board enjoy delicious café style food or a drink from the bar (extra cost).
Every cruise allows you plenty of time to explore the TSS Earnslaw’s decks and bridge, view the engine room and historic displays in the Fo’c’sle Gallery and join a sing-along with the ship’s pianist.
Cruises depart regularly throughout the day. You have the choice of a cruise by itself, or it can be combined with a visit to Walter Peak High Country Farm for a guided farm visit, horse trek, barbecue lunch or evening buffet dining.

- Passengers cruise from Queentown Bay to Walter Peak High Country Farm (without going ashore) and return.
- Guided tours of the vessel are availble and passengers are welcome to visit the Fo´c´cle Gallery to view historic displays.
- Tea, coffee and delicious cafe style food can be purchased on board from the Promenade Café/Bar
