New Zealand’s ski accommodation is nearly always off mountain. The only on snow accommodation is at Cardrona and that is very limited. Towns and cities that are close to the ski fields provide the bulk of the accommodation in New Zealand and shuttle bus services ferry skiers to the ski fields each day. In the southern areas like Coronet peak and Cardrona, accommodation is available in both Queenstown and Wanaka. Skiing at Mount Hutt means staying in Christchurch or Methven and skiing on Mount Ruapehu means acommodation around Rotorua, Taupo or Okahune. There's certainly no shortage of options when it comes to that perfect snow holiday in New Zealand.
Whether it's Coronet Peak and The Remarkables in Queenstown or Cardrona and Treble Cone, the sensational choices for accommodation in Queenstown or Wanaka, provides a bed in one of the best skiing environments anywhere so whether it’s the all day snow fun, or the after ski culture that's known for staying up all night you need to know there is a comfortable place to rest your head after the party is over.
Treble Cone and Cardrona at Wanaka: With Cardrona mainly catering to the beginners of skiing, and Treble Cone's terrain suiting all skill levels, you’ll find your perfect ski experience all within a short step from our ski accommodation in Wanaka. Of course, it’s not all about skiing, and when not on the slopes, there are plenty of activities to keep the entire family occupied; whether it's sightseeing, or museum browsing, there’s something for all tastes here.
On the north Island ski resorts are at Whakapapa and Turoa on Mount Ruapehu: It’s not very often you can claim to have skied on an active volcano, but with our wide range of ski accommodation Ruapehu, you can say just that. At the summit is a steaming crater lake, which always keeps you aware of the volcanoes "active status". Use our ski accommodation Ruapehu to carve down natural half pipes created by lava – not something you can experience every day.
Skiing in New Zealand is a truly fantastic experience with mountain scenery that is unequelled together with regular and reliable snowfalls. Ski acommodation is available in some of the most beautiful locations you can imagine.
Of course, winter in New Zealand isn't simply about the skiing and snow-boarding the NZ Ski Fields; it’s also the perfect time to take advantage of all the other activities that New Zealand has to offer. Adrenalin sports, bungy, jet boating, wine trails and sight-seeing, just to mention a few. There will always be New Zealand ski accommodation on offer for those choosing to tackle the mountains a few days at a time.
