Cardrona is one of the top four ski resorts in the New Zealand Ski Fields. With a skiable area of over 320 hectares and three chair lifs, Cardona is one of the most relaxed ski destinations you will find. Cardona is a little over an hours drive from Queenstown and about twenty minutes from Wanaka, making it one of the easiest resorts to get to. The access road is also one of the easier ones to drive.
Encompassing three valleys Cardrona is suitable for all visitors from beginners through to the experienced. Cardrona is situated just 57 kilometres from Queenstown, and takes approximately an hour to make the journey. Cardrona also offers limited on snow accommodation and is the only new Zealand ski resort to do so. Wanaka is the nearest town with good accommodation. Many skiers choose to stay in Queenstown accommodation and drive to the snow each day or use the regular shuttle bus service.
