Set in 15 acres of park-like grounds in the heart of New Zealand's South Island, the historic Holme Station Homestead offers something totally new to groups wanting to get away from it all - together. This sumptuously refurbished luxury estate is the ideal place to escape to with a bunch of friends or colleagues. Available on an exclusive daily basis, our luxuriously relaxed property is a truly unique blend of modern facilities, unforgettable accommodation, and country elegance.

Holme Station Homestead set a new standard in luxury for colonial homes. This was one of the first houses in New Zealand to have electric lighting, using an innovative mini hydro system run from a series of pools. The original owners would be amazed at the level of comfort available in the house today. Beautiful soft king size beds, all year around warmth and luxurious bathrooms are but a few of the tasteful enhancements made to this grand old lady. All in harmony with the original style.

Whether you require luxury accommodation for a romantic escape, unique corporate event, exclusive wedding venue or a special family gathering; Holme Station offers everything you could wish for, and more.

Accommodation Information:

The Holme Station Homestead was built to celebrate life. Originally built in 1912 by one of New Zealand's pioneering families, the Elworthy's of South Canterbury. The homestead was designed to house a large family with a household staff of 25 and social centre to a large working station. There's plenty of room to socialise, or read a book in front of an open fire.

Today this luxury estate is even more comfortable with its myraid of enhancements including central heating, ensuites, TV, games room, extensive fully equipped kitchen and modern heating.

Location Information:

South Canterbury with its flat plains, gentle foot-hills and meandering rivers has always been an attractive place to live in New Zealand. The first Maori came here to hunt the giant Moa birds, then later the pioneers introduced sheep and crops, all propered in the even climate and rich fertile country.

Today the farmland spreads from mountain to the sea, a patchwork of colour and texture seemly unruffled by the rest of the world. This is the backdrop for Holme Station Homestead.
