Christchurch - Queenstown

Day 1: Arrive Christchurch
Transfer from the airport to your hotel and relax. Later enjoy awelcome drink with your Tour Director and fellow travellers.
Hotel: Terrace Downs Resort, Darfield.

Day 2: Mt. Cook
Begin with a ride on the Christchurch Tram.You are Invited to enjoy a taste of country life with a barbecue lunch on aworking farm. We'll see Lake Tekapo, Lake Pukaki, visit theChurch of the Good Shepherd and soak up the spectacular alpine scenery of Mt. CookNational Park. You can also take an optional scenic flight over Mt. Cook (weatherpermitting).

Day 3: Dunedin
On our way to Dunedin you see the Waitaki Hydro Power Scheme, Benmore Dam and thefamous white limestone buildings of Oamaru. At Dunedin you tour the city, then you'vegot the afternoon to yourself - take a Wildlife Cruise, visit the Cadbury ChocolateFactory or ride the historic Taieri Gorge Railway, it's your choice.

Day 4: Te Anau
A guided tour of New Zealand’s only castle – Larnach castle and its gardens starts the day. Then you head to Te Anau across fertile farming land to the shores of Lake Te Anau, the largest lake in the South Island. Tonight, if you choose to, you can see the Te Anau Glow Worm Caves.

Day 5: Milford Sound
Be wowed and awe-struck by the beauty of the World Heritage Fiordland National Park. Keep your camera close by as you see Mirror Lake, Pop’s Lookout, Cleddau Valley, the Chasm, the hand-made Homer Tunnel, Mitre Peak, Bowen Falls and stunningly photogenic Milford Sound, where you will cruise the waters of this natural wonder. The Devil’s Staircase and Lake Wakatipu pass you by. Arrive at Queenstown for an orientation tour. The dinner option tonight is the Skyline Restaurant on Bob’s Peak – sensational views over Queenstown and a bonusKiwi Haka Maori Show, plus you'll ride the steepest Gondola in the Southern Hemisphere just to get there!

Day 6: Queenstown 'Free Time'
Explore adventure-capital Queenstown your way. Go wild with jet boat rides or white water rafting. For the less adventurous there are wine and garden tours. For dinner you’ll travel across Lake Wakatipu and back on the TSS Earnslaw, New Zealand’s oldest steam ship, to Walter Peak Sheep Station for a carvery meal and sheep shearing demonstration. B HD

Day 7: Depart Queenstown
We will transfer you to Queenstown Airport for your onward flight. B

Day 1: Arrive Queenstown
On arrival at the hotel the remainder of the afternoon is at leisure. This evening enjoy a welcome drink with your Tour Director. Why not experience the Kiwi Haka & Dinner tonight?

Day 2: Queenstown
This morning is free to explore Queenstown. Ask your Tour Director about optional activities like jet boating, white water rafting, wine or gardens tours. Later we take a scenic journey on the steamship TSS Earnslaw across stunning Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak Station. Enjoy a sheep dog demonstration and a delicious carvery dinner. B HD

Day 3: Milford Sound
Discover the stunning scenery of Fiordland this morning and see the Homer Tunnel, The Chasm, Cleddau Valley, Pop's Lookout, Mirror Lake. We take a magical cruise on Milford Sound seeing Mitre Peak and Bowen Falls. Overnight in pretty Te Anau.

Day 4: Te Anau - Dunedin
Today we travel through rich fertile South Otago and enjoy time at leisure to explore charming Dunedin, founded by Scottish settlers. Perhaps visit Cadbury Chocolate Factory, take a wildlife cruise or ride the historic Taieri Gorge Railway

Day 5: Dunedin
Enjoy a guided tour at Larnach Castle, New Zealand’s only authentic castle, followed by a sightseeing tour of Dunedin. Later, we journey through Oamaru, famous for its white limestone buildings, to Twizel, gateway to Mount Cook National Park.

Day 6: Mt. Cook - Christchurch
See the fantastic scenery of Mount Cook National Park this morning (optional scenic flights available – weather permitting). Visit the beautiful turquoise Lake Tekapo and Lake Pukaki and see the Church of the Good Shepherd.You are Invited to enjoy a taste of country life with lunch on a working farm. Travel over colourful plains to Christchurch.
