| Day 1: Arrive Wellington On arrival in Wellington you will be transferred to your hotel. Tonight meet your Driver/Guide for a welcome drink. Hotel: Museum Hotel, Wellington, 2 nights. Day 2: HWellington 'Free Time' Today is at leisure. Why not explore Te Papa, the Museum of New Zealand? Perhaps take a tour of the Parliament buildings, go shopping or enjoy a meal at one of the many cafés or restaurants in Wellington. B Day 3: Wellingotn - Napier Travel along the Kapiti Coast through to Palmerston North. Later continue to Napier for a tour of this Art Deco city. Hotel: Museum Hotel, Wellington, 2 nights. B Day 4: Napier - Rotorua Our exclusive local guide takes us on a walking tour to show the many different types of Art Deco architecture. In 1931 Napier was struck by an earthquake measuring 7.8. The subsequent fires destroyed most of the city which was later rebuilt in Art Deco style. This afternoon we visit Taupo on the shores of Lake Taupo, New Zealand’s largest lake. View the Huka Falls and pass the Wairakei Geothermal Power Station. On arrival in Rotorua visit the Whakarewarewa Village for an authentic look at how Maori live today and how geothermal activity is part of their everyday life. View boiling mud pools and the Pohutu Geyser. Top off the day with a Maori Hangi & concert. Hotel: Princess Gate Hotel, Rotorua. B - D |
Day 5: Cambridge Farm Stay Today is an array of pleasures! Enjoy a view of life on the farm at the Agrodome Sheep Show. This afternoon visit Rainbow Springs for a guided tour. Marvel at the grace of the numerous specimens of trout and feed them as they cruise the fern-fringed pools. Hear the bush wildlife and meet the native birds including the kiwi. Later we travel to the English country town of Cambridge where you will be collected by your local farm host for some genuine kiwi hospitality – an overnight Farm Stay! A farm tour is followed by dinner with your hosts. Hotel: Farm Stay, Cambridge. B - D Day 6: Farm Stay - Coromandel We depart Cambridge this morning and travel towards the Coromandel Ranges. This afternoon we meet ‘Kiwi Dundee’ for a tour of the region and a look at native wildlife. Our unique accommodation is set amongst native bush in luxury tree huts. Tonight enjoy a farewell dinner with your fellow passengers. Hotel: Puka Park, Coromandel. B - D Day 7: Depart Auckland This morning we travel through the Coromandel Ranges and stop at the old gold-mining town of Thames. Later we see the sights of Auckland including city views from Mt. Eden before being transferred to Auckland Airport for your onward flight. B |
