Explore Hot Water Beach – where nature warms the water with geothermal heat. Discover the rich history and culture of the Maori people in Rotorua and the amazing limestone features and Glow Worms at Waitomo. | ||
| Day 1: Auckland – Coromandel We commence with views from Mt. Eden on our Auckland City Sights tour. Later we travel south towards the Coromandel Ranges. Stop at the small township of Thames before continuing through the Coromandel Forest to Pauanui. This afternoon we meet the ‘Kiwi Dundee’ for a tour of the region and native wildlife. Our unique accommodation is set amongst native bush in luxury tree huts. Tonight have a welcome drink with your fellow passengers before dinner. Hotel: Puka Park Resort, Coromandel, 2 nights. Day 2: Hot Water Beach Today we wait for the tide to be just right before heading to Hot Water Beach. Here we have time to explore this remote area before taking our shovels and digging holes at the water’s edge. Thermal activity warms the water and it is very therapeutic! Enjoy your own very special hot pool! This afternoon we return to the resort. You can relax on the white sandy beach or perhaps play a round of golf. at our hotel. Hotel: Royal Lakeside Novotel Hotel, Rotorua. Day 4: Farm Stay Today is an assortment of pleasures! Enjoy a view of life on the farm with the Agrodome Sheep Show. This afternoon visit Paradise Valley Springs for a guided tour and sample their local spring water! Later we travel to the English style country town of Cambridge where you will be collected by your local farm host to be transported to their farm for some truly Kiwi hospitality… an overnight Farm Stay! A farm tour is followed by dinner with your hosts. Hotel: Farm Stay. Day 5: Depart Auckland We depart Rotorua for the Waitomo Caves. Enjoy lush farm scenery en route. We take a guided tour through the newest caves, the Ruakuri Caves. See stalactites and stalagmites and the Glow Worm Grotto, an experience not to be missed. This afternoon we continue to Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city where you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight. |
